Aspen has been home to a contemporary art museum for 35 years. But in summer of 2014, after seven years of controversy over design and size, the Aspen Art Museum opened in its new $45 million home. We visited to learn about the shift from re-purposed power plant to a brand new space designed by a world renowned architect.
