Colorado Coined

After the gold rush hit Colorado in 1859, prospectors craved a way to carry -- and spend! -- their rich finds. Architecturally inspired by the Palazzo Medici Riccardi in Florence, Italy, the Denver Mint solved this problem and began minting coins in 1906. Enter through the ornate doors of one of the United State's most beautiful manufacturing plants.
