PRODUCTION INTERN FOR COLORADO EXPERIENCE - DENVER
The intern reports directly to Director & Executive Producer Julie Speer and aids her with all duties related to pre-production, production and post production. The intern has a desk, phone, email and direct line as well as access to Adobe Premiere Editing suites. This production internship is an excellent way to gain hands on experience at a TV station (with live and taped video productions) as well as experience in the nonprofit sector.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Preproduction – 25%
- Research (for data, photographs, archival footage and other assets and info)
- Drafting shoot schedules
- Drafting scripts
- Prepping tape stock / striping tapes
- Production – 15%
- Assist on field and studio shoots
- Set up and break down of gear
- Operating teleprompter or camera as needed
- Post Production – 50%
- Digitizing
- Capturing and sorting footage
- Sub-clipping and preparing sequences
- Basic editing
- Exporting .wav files or .mp4 files
- Special Projects as assigned – 10%
Requirements
- 300 hour minimum requirement (scheduled as you like)
- Agree to a non-paid internship, students may earn school credit
- Knowledge and interest in video editing
- Interest and passion for public television and non-fiction programming
- Flexible, Independent, self motivated, personable and willing to learn
